ABOUT ME
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, I like to deconstruct and play with an image, trying to capture its essence. In the process the image becomes an idea and a theme develops.

For me, the process of printmaking is unpredictable, many factors can influence the final outcome. I find this liberating as it helps me to let go of expectations. In this sense, creating a print is a discovery rather than a determined act. I also like the physicality of print making. It’s about inviting the medium and tools to add their mark, working intuitively and finding the right rhythm.

I was born in East Germany. I studied Fine Art at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee, graduating with a degree in Fine Art/Sculpture. After completing my studies, I moved to Cape Town, South Africa.
