The works on this page are inspired by the quality of light in the forest.
The Japanese term for it is Komorebi. It describes the way sunlight filters through tree leaves, creating a play of light and shadow.

Lichtung is the German word for a place in the forest where the tree canopy opens and sunlight reaches the forest floor.
Both prints are interpretations of the same sketch. In Dappled Light the viewer is standing in the clearing looking up where as in Lichtung the viewer is looking at the scene from the outside.
