Sketching is thinking. Seeing the image take shape, correcting, playing, discarding, simplifying, all contribute to crystalize what the image in my mind is about.

For Wheatfield I started by making sketches of landscapes I remembered looking out the car window. The final compositions for the linocuts are stripped down to a minimum to emphasise stillness.
