While working on the Wheatfield series I created a few small monotypes alongside the linocuts.

The choice of printing technique is very important as it becomes part of the visual language of the work. Creating the linocuts for this series was about restraint, first carefully setting up the composition, then finding the right cadence cutting the lino. In contrast, creating the monotypes was about fluency, harnessing the gesture of the brush stroke.
